UCN Libraries’ mission is to support the curriculum of the University College of the North; provide resources to support the educational communities of Northern Manitoba; and to develop a research library to support the needs of the Aboriginal Studies Centre of the University. Promoting academic success by providing library services to users located not only on our campuses but at remote community sites as needed.
UCN has physical library facilities in The Pas and Thompson and partners with three northern communities to develop, maintain, and operate joint-use Public/UCN Libraries located in Norway House, Chemawawin (Easterville), and Mathias Colomb (Pukatawagan) – which is currently closed due to renovations at Sakastew School. Library hours vary with the academic sessions, please check with library staff to determine.
In addition, library staff can be requested to visit or present virtually to Education and Training Centres, and other educational sites, throughout the year to support the use of library services for students and staff. To schedule information or instruction sessions, please contact your nearest UCN Librarian.
Library Services Information Gateway provides access to electronic resources - online from any device on or off-campus - as well as other important information, including a link to UCN’s video repository UCN Mediaspace, where you will find a variety of Library tutorials.
